 Except as charged as hereunder prescribed, container ships are all subject to port charges for conventional ships.

Remarks:

Remarks:

  1. Transit container get 20% discount (from May 1, 1998 the flexible rate will be implement at 30% discount). Domestic transit container gets 50% discount.
  2. From July 1, 1998, container ships on the Euro-American route will get a flexible rate of 20% discount. From March 1, 2001, container ships on the conventional route will get a flexible rate of 10% discount.
  3. Using the In/Out marshaling method of loading/ discharge will get 50% discount.
  4. Charges for shifting of containers on ships will be based on the number of times.
  5. The actions of discharging on wharf or lighter and reloading again will be charged twice.
  6. Class 1 charges are for container ships that have gantry crane operating pattern. Class 2 charges are for container ships that have onboard Derick and mobile (floating) cranes.
  7. On National Holidays, an additional container charge of NT$497 will be collected per Class 1 container and NT$672 per Class 2 container under 20-footers; For over 20-footer, NT$745 will ber collected per Class 1 and NT$1,007 per Class 2 container.
  8. Direct discharge off the ship onto the trailer will be charged at NT$ per container per move.
  9. An additional container charge of NT$70 (for Class 1) and NT$94 (for Class 2) per container of under20-footers, NT$139 (class 1) and NT$188 (class 2) per container of over 20-footers will be levied for the handling of containers stacked in the hold without cell guide system.

(3)Charges for using Container Handling Equipment:
 Charges for using container handling equipment to handle both empty and loaded containers for the purpose of loading/unloading to/from ships and trailers, cargo shifting at wharf, marshaling yard and open air storage shall be collected as prescribed hereunder:

Remarks:
(1) There is a 15% discount for empty containers using gantry container cranes;
(2) 30% discount for transit containers (flexible rate implemented on May 1, 1998 to give 40% discount); 50% discount for domestic marine transit containers
(3) From July 1, 1998, flexible rates will be implemented on the usage of gantry container cranes. Container ships on a conventional route will get 10% discount, while container ships on the Euro-American route will get 20% discount.

(4)Container Demurrage:
A demurrage for loaded/ empty containers stored in marshaling yard or remaining on wharves, open space, or storage areas shall be charged when storing commences, with 5 days considered as one period. Charges will be assessed accordingly on the first period, and will increase progressively by 30% for the second period and so forth, until the end of the sixth month. Any storage beyond six months will be persecuted by law.

(5)Charges for Wharf Passage:
All the inbound or outbound containers including containers carried by domestic liners shall be charged for their wharf passage.

Remarks:

  1. All the inbound and outbound empty containers and outbound containers to be shifted and reloaded shall be exempted of such charges.
  2. Transit containers to be exported from the original import harbor to be charged only once.
  3. Containers shut out or destined for other harbor to be shifted onto wharves or lighters to be charged only once.
  4. Containers passing through more than two wharves within the same harbor shall be charged once only.
  5. The charge at 50% discount for domestic liners will be collected half each by both export and import harbors. However, for the inbound containers to be transshipped to another domestic harbor or for the transit containers to be exported from another domestic harbor, the charge will still be collected as stipulated for their passage through the original import harbor or the new export harbor.
  6. 50% discount for transit containers and domestic marine transit containers.
  7. Flexible rates to be implemented from July 1, 1998, where container ships on conventional route get 10% discount while container ships on Euro-American route get 20% discount.

(6)Charges for Weighing :
Any loaded outbound container is subjected to weighing and shall be charged as hereunder:

(7)Charges for using Equipment for Night Operation:

(8)Charges for Power Supply to Reefers:
Any reefer having its power supply from Harbor Bureau shall be charged as hereunder:

iconTariff for Handling of Containers Carried by Conventional Ships
(1)Handling Charges:
1. The tariff shall be charged at 70% discount based on the volume of container.
2. Handling charges shall be based on Class 3 rates for general cargo.

(2)Equipment charges, storage/ demurrage charges, wharf passage charges, container weighing charges and power supply charges for reefers shall be based on the rates for containerships.

(3) Except for the charges indicated above, all other operation shall be based on the rates for conventional ships.

iconTariff for Lash Traffic
(1)Dockage or Anchorage:
  1. Mother Ship:The dockage will be the same as those for the containerships mooring at wharfs. Anchorage will be the same as the ships mooring by buoys.
  2. Barge: At NT$296 per barge per day.

(2) Tuggage for barge:NT$ 2,810 per barge/ time。

(3) Handling Charges:

  1. Barge handling charges: NT$ 4,831 per barge/ time, for loading barges into, or dishcharging barges from mother ship.
  2. Container handling charges: Same for containerships.
  3. General cargo handling charge: The charges for the cargo loading into or discharged from barges are the same as those for conventional ships.
  4. Except for the charges indicated above, all other operation shall be charged at the rates for containerships or conventional ships as the case may be applicable.
