Chapter31---“Taichung Port Emergency Entry Reporting and Operational Control” regulated by Taichung Harbour Bureau(TCHB)
To strengthen the smoothness of emergency entry reporting and operational control, to boost safe navigation and assure the safety of port facilities. TCHB invited marine surveyors, pilots, shipping companies and agents to have a discussion on Feb, 25th, 2010. “Taichung Port Emergency Entry Reporting and Operational Control” was thereby regulated after reaching an agreement at this meeting. TCHB said that from now on, upon the request of TCHB, the captains, shipping companies or agents should in advance or emergency fill up “Taichung Port Emergency Entry Application Form’’ and attach a check-up report signed by marine surveyor, on the condition of ship’s hull damages, flooding or list come up. TCHB will assess and survey the application before the entry permit is granted. To intensify the process of emergency entry reporting, TCHB will integrate the in-and-outward reporting mechanism. The item, Observed sea condition, will also be added to “Check list for the ship in emergency calling Taichung Harbour” All the precious management done is to make emergency entry reporting and operational control work perfectly. .
