Chapter33---Increasing transportation facility convenience for passenger traffic between Taichung- Xiamen

Taichung Harbor Bureau provided the public a variety of convenient and fast passenger traffic services. Airlines and shipping companies actively strive to open up transportation between Taichung and the outlying islands, bilateral passenger and cargo airlines traffic and shipping route. At present, TCHB has succeeded winning over two-fixed passenger and shipping route. Included are COSCO Star for every Tuesday, Taichung ─ Xiamen liner and Jin Ri Zhi Xing Cruises will commence her maiden voyage on April 3rd.After then will be a liner between Taichung and Makung for every Monday and Friday. This is so that people can have more transportation, believing that it can promote central region tourist crowds and initiate more business opportunities. TCHB stated that Cosco Star is now operating a liner which freight between Taiwan and Mainland. The schedule is arranged as departing at 7.00 pm from Taichung Port every Tuesday, and from Keelung Port every Saturday and arriving the next following day at 9.30am. It will be a different option for Taiwanese businessmen liken to having the convenience of an expeditious delivery and an alternative game rules. It’s a Taichung-Makung-Anping shipping route. TCHB will arrange “Jin Ri Zhi Xing Cruise” berthing at 19A Passenger Terminal. Passengers can pass through Taichung Harbor Passenger Service Center (No.9, Section 1, Zhong 2nd Road, Wuci town, Taichung County,) to enjoy the convenient and comfortable secured customs clearance services.
