To fit in with the government’s twelve construction policy goals of “enlarging the domestic demands, improving the investment environment, and strengthening the economics” and the construction of “the central Taiwan’s developing high technology industry and new tribes’ plan” for loving Taiwan and to correspond to the industrial change and development tendency after the cross-straits direct charter, Taichung Harbor Bureau made use of the advantage of the great land in the harbor, wholly reflected the original 144 hectares of logistics area, enlarged them to 194 hectares, considered the harbor development feature, and made the harbor “Harbor Industry Development Area” to strengthen the functions of the central Taiwan’s international ocean shipping, flight and district logistics strategies. On December 24th, 2009, we were checked and ratified by the Executive Yuan, Harbor Industry Development Area would provide the harbor for related industries which match the harbor development policies, satisfy the factory owners’ diversified land demands and timing, could combine the free trade harbor area, be equipped with the division of labor, the cooperation, and the support, further exert the economic effect for the harbor’s logistics industry gatherings, and efficiently develop and make use of the harbor’s land to upgrade our operating value service and operating result and meantime bring the central Taiwan’ economically prosperous development.
